Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Video Downloader With Subs (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Video Downloader With Subs Chrome extension and website (collectively, the “Service”).
1. What We Collect
Account information
When you sign in or purchase a premium subscription, we collect and store your email address. This is used to:
- Send you a one-time magic sign-in link.
- Identify your account and match it to your premium subscription.
- Reply to support requests you initiate.
Download activity
To enforce the free-tier rate limit (one download per hour), we record the timestamp of each download claim along with either your email (when signed in) or an anonymous client identifier stored locally in the extension. We do not record the URLs or contents of the videos you download.
Payment information
Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy. We receive a confirmation from Lemon Squeezy containing your subscription status and customer ID. We do not see or store your credit card details or billing address — those remain with Lemon Squeezy.
Issue reports
If you submit an issue report from the extension, the description you write, the current tab URL, the video URL in question, and an optional reply email are sent to our support inbox.
2. What We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect or transmit the contents of the videos you download. All video and subtitle data is fetched and processed locally in your browser.
- We do not collect your browsing history or the pages you visit while using the extension.
- We do not collect personally identifiable information beyond your email address.
- We do not use analytics, ad trackers, or behavioral profiling.
3. Third-Party Services
We rely on the following processors to run the Service:
- Cloudflare — hosts our API, database (D1), and static website.
- Resend — delivers transactional emails (magic sign-in links).
- Lemon Squeezy — processes premium subscription payments and acts as the merchant of record.
- EmailJS — delivers issue reports to our support inbox.
Each of these processors has their own privacy policy governing how they handle the minimal data we forward to them.
4. How We Use Your Data
- To authenticate you via magic sign-in links.
- To grant and manage premium access tied to your subscription.
- To enforce free-tier usage limits.
- To respond to issue reports or support requests.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
5. Data Retention
We retain your email address for as long as your account or subscription is active. Download claim records older than 30 days are periodically purged. Issue reports are retained indefinitely unless you request deletion.
6. Your Rights
You may, at any time, request that we:
- Tell you what data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your account and associated data.

7. Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored on Cloudflare’s infrastructure. Sign-in links expire after a short time window and are single-use. Session tokens are stored hashed in our database.
8. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
